Juliann White Groupp Obituary
May 15, 1926 - December 19, 2015 Juliann was the eldest daughter of Ann Peppard White and James Wayne White. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri and attended the convent school of Notre Dame of Sion from kindergarten through high school. She furthered her education at Bennet Junior College in Millbrook, New York. She then continued on to the Kansas City Art Institute where she studied ceramic engineering. While there, she met and married a fellow student and together they founded and operated their unique porcelain factory. They sold their beautiful products to Neiman Marcus, Lord and Taylor, Black Starr and Gorham and I. Magnin and others. At the age of 28, Juliann divorced and moved to New York City where she worked in the French Export field. She met and married artist Irving "Doc" Groupp. In 1963, at the age of 37, she and "Doc" moved to Santa Monica, California. They resided there for a while and eventually settled in Venice, CA, where she and "Doc" bought a home. Juliann then went to night school for four and a half years and became a certified court reporter. After working at this profession for over twenty years she retired from Los Angeles Superior Court. "Doc" Groupp passed in 1995. Julianne was always proud of the fact that she had the adaptability to learn and excel in three completely different skills in her lifetime. Juliann had a very special spirit about her and she will be missed by so many who were fortunate enough to have known her. It was her choice to not have a funeral service. Several close friends will be "getting together" after the first of the year 2016 to honor her and celebrate her life and preserve her memory..
