Julie A. Bolster Obituary
Julie A. Bolster passed away peacefully on Monday, February 29th with her family by her side. Julie or "Jules" as she was known to family and friends was an inspiration to many during her eight-year battle with breast cancer. She believed that every day was a gift and lived life to it fullest. Julie was born in Los Angeles, CA on December 18, 1941 to Paul and Mavis Boshard. She grew up in Altadena and graduated from Romona Convent Secondary School in 1959. In 1962 she married Robert W. Bolster Jr. She was actively involved in her kids' and community's activities serving as PTA President of San Rafael Elementary School, Pasadena Day Nursery, Pasadena Junior League and CORO. In 1983 she became Assistant Director of the Cal Tech Y. In 1990 she moved to Jackson Hole, WY and became Director of Events at the National Museum of Wildlife Art. She moved back to Southern California and settled in San Juan Capistrano. She is survived by her three children Bob (Marlene) of Fairfax, VA, Laura (Oliver) of Portland, OR and Brian (Diana) of Duarte, CA. She will be deeply missed by her two grandsons, Connor and James who affectionately called her "Grammy." In addition, she is survived by her brother Mike Boshard of La Canada and three nieces and two nephews. A special thank you to Brady Hollingsworth for all his love and care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Arlington Gardens, 295 Arlington, Drive Pasadena CA. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 19th at 2:00 at The Athenaeum at Cal Tech 555 Hill Avenue Pasadena, CA 91106. Cabot & Sons, Pasadena.
