Julius Jancso Obituary
June 2, 1923 - January 30, 2017 Julius Jancso passed away in Los Angeles, CA after a long illness. Born in Budapest, Hungary, he is survived by his sister Ilona, his wife Susan, daughters Susan and Katalin, their husbands, Tim and Jay, and four beloved grandchildren. In Hungary, Julius rose from humble circumstances to become a successful businessman. His love of cars also led him to be involved in auto racing. The family moved to Los Angeles in 1976, the Bicentennial Year. While America celebrated its freedom, he too was now free to partake in the American dream. He got his contractor's license and began purchasing real estate. Later, he and a friend founded Amerikai Magyar Hirlap, a Hungarian weekly newspaper, and in 1992, he opened the Csardas Hungarian Restaurant. His vision and courage gave his family a new start and a promising future. His generosity and desire to help others will be remembered by all. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 12 at 3pm at The Los Angeles Hungarian House, 1975 W. Washington Blvd., Los Angeles 90018. All are welcome.
