Katherine "Kay" EICHENHOFER Obituary
November 4, 1926 - January 4, 2016 Kay, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at her home in Santa Monica. She was born in Los Angeles and in 1938 the family moved to Pacific Palisades. She attended University High School, studied two years at Stanford University before transferring to USC where she was affiliated with Pi Beta Phi Sorority. In 1947 she married the love of her life, Walt Eichenhofer. They moved back to the Palisades where they lived for over 40 years and raised their family. The next 25 years they split their time between Lake Arrowhead and Palm Desert. They had a beautiful marriage lasting over 65 years...always together, they loved their family, enjoyed their many friends, played golf, bridge and traveled throughout the world. Kay is survived by her loving daughters, Kris Gibello (Mark) of Pacific Palisades, Kit Sargent (Rusty) of San Diego. Adoring grandchildren, Brian Kirch, Megan Killeen, Jeff and Thomas Sargent, Lisa Khoury (Brian), Mark Gibello (Jennifer) and 3 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Benjamin and Kate Gibello. She will be missed by all who knew her, respected her, loved her and remembered for her positive attitude, grace and friendship. She was the "Lady who always had a Smile." The family requests any donations be made to a children's .
