Kenneth George Ziebarth Obituary
January 16, 1932 - September 20, 2017 Kenneth George Ziebarth, born in Le Sueur, MN, died in Rancho Mirage, California, from complications following cancer surgery. He was 85 years old. He is survived by his wife, Maxine, sister, Donna, 8 children, a step-daughter, 17 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 children. Raised in Blue Earth, MN, he attended St. John's University in Collegeville, MN. He earned his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law, in St. Paul, MN. Shortly thereafter he relocated to California where he joined the legal department of General Dynamics in Pomona, and subsequently joined a law firm in Upland, CA. He was involved in local politics. He served the City of Montclair as both the mayor, and as a member of City Council. He was the deputy city attorney for both Montclair and Upland, CA, and the city attorney for Chino, CA. In March 1971, he was appointed to the Municipal Court by then Gov. Reagan. In 1974, he was elected to the Superior Court where he ultimately served over 40 years on the bench. Among his numerous awards, he was named one of the five "Outstanding Young Men in California" (1965) by the California Jaycees. He loved sports, especially baseball, choral and classical music, and the study of foreign languages. He was a devoted and caring husband and father, and faithfully supported the Catholic Church and his alma maters.
