Kevin Louis Caamaño Obituary
Kevin Louis Caamaño of the Glendale-Los Angeles area passed away in his sleep Saturday, July 15, 2017, with his family and favorite Snoopy "doggie" at his side. Son of Sheila and August Caamaño, both deceased, born in Evanston, Illinois, Kevin is older than his twin sister Brigid. He was a proud graduate of Maine East High School, Park Ridge, Illinois, followed by participation in the Orchard Village community. In the '80s the family relocated lo Roseville, California, taking them closer to Brigid's family and the first grandchild. Kevin thrived in his new environment at the ARC community there. When his dad and best buddy died in 1991, Kevin and Mom eventually moved to Glendale-Los Angeles and the nearness of family there. In Glendale, Kevin became a Thursday night regular at Club Maple, and it was an integral part of his social life. Kevin, with his family and sidekick, Snoopy, was an enthusiastic traveler, Special Olympics athlete, and sports fan (especially Blackhawks and Cubs). His winning smile, kind heart, spirited humor, and interest in people won him fans the world over. He walked tall with a smile, a hearty "hello," and an extended hand. We are lucky to have passed through a corner of this world with him and miss his Light mightily. Kevin is survived by his oldest sister Samantha Churchman and husband Richard Sowa, older sister Colleen Caamaño-Keppler and husband Joe, older brother Erin Caamaño and wife Susan, twin sister, Brigid Hébert and husband Ray, nephews Clynton and Tyler Hébert, and niece Raechel Hébert. A memorial service is being planned at St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, IL, for Spring 2018 with the extended family. Donations may be sent to Special Olympics-Southern California, 1334 South Central Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90021 with a notation "In Memory of Kevin Caamano."
