Kraig Eileen Tevis Keeler Obituary
March 12, 1949 - December 27, 2016 Kraig Keeler of Temple City passed away peacefully on December 27, 2016. She was the eldest daughter of Felix and Nancy (O'Neil) Tevis. She is survived by her husband of 35 years Robert, children Lisa, Kenneth, Michael and Nancy, her siblings Richard, Tony, Bobby, Doris, Janet, and Johnny, and numerous nieces and nephews. Kraig earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies summa cum laude, a Master of Arts and Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment, and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies in Religious Studies from California State University at Los Angeles, where she was a long-time employee. She retired and began a teaching career at St. Luke Catholic (elementary) School, San Gabriel Mission Elementary School and Bishop Amat Memorial High School. She taught religious education at various levels and churches spanning six decades. She was a devout Catholic, attending daily mass, and was an active member and Orator of the Italian Catholic Federation. She was a talented artist, working across every medium, including creating a series of educational/instructional films for the Edmund D. Edelman Children's Court, which are still used today. Kraig battled ovarian cancer for four and a half years, all while playing senior softball twice a week (and medaling four years at the California Senior Games Championships), swimming daily with her friends, attending ceramics class at the Senior Center in Monrovia, and continuing her lifelong hobby of building, landscaping, home improvement, and art projects for family and friends. She spent her life serving, teaching and inspiring others and brought many blessings to everyone she met. In lieu of flowers please make donations to: Poor Clare Nuns of Santa Barbara, Little Sisters of the Poor of San Pedro, St. Anne's Maternity Home in Los Angeles, or Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles. Mass will be at Holy Angels Parish in Arcadia on December 30, at 10 a.m.
