Lawrence (Larry) Dubey

Obituary Condolences

January 17, 1952 - May 22, 2015 Larry created a life that has inspired everyone he touched. He was brilliant, valiant and funny; a portrait of courage in the face of unimaginable adversity. He became a highly respected contractor and construction manager, working extensively for high end companies, most recently for top LA firm RHI. Larry loved sports and adventure and completed the Malibu Triathlon in 2008. Just a few months later, he had a catastrophic accident that left him a quadriplegic. His courage and strength throughout the grueling recovery and his persistence in working to create a purposeful life made him a hero to his wide circle of loving family, friends and colleagues. He recently volunteered for a groundbreaking clinical study in the field of Neurorobotics conducted by USC, Cal Tech and Rancho Los Amigos, motivated by the chance to improve the lives of future spinal cord injury patients. Predeceased by his beloved son Mitchell and his father William, Larry is survived by his wife of 33 years Randi Levin-Dubey, his daughter Lauren, his mother Ruth, sister Jackie (Fred) Weintraub, brother Steven (Sara) and his devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 12:30pm, Tuesday, May 26 at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, 5950 Forest Lawn Dr., LA 90068. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted to assist the family with expenses c/o Randi Dubey 3449 Moore St., LA 90066.
