Lawrence Pleet Obituary
May 24, 1935 - November 6, 2016 Lawrence Pleet passed away on November 6th with his devoted wife, Phyllis, at his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the first-born child of Bernard Pleet and Sybil Pleet. He attended Fairfax High School and received his B.A. and M.D. at UCLA. He was an esteemed surgeon, specializing in reconstructive head and neck surgery. Larry enjoyed adventures and lived life to its fullest. He was always curious, spoke many languages, and studied the Talmud. He took up the violin at age 70 and was an inventor. He loved sport activities, the outdoors, boating, hiking, fishing, water, endurance horse rides, and snow skiing. He was also a pilot, taking friends and family on wonderful trips. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis, his two children, Joseph Powell and Loren Pleet (Kyoko), his grandson Cooper, and his two sisters Linda Buttwinick (Edward) and Helaine Pleet (Jerry), and many other relatives. A Memorial Service will be held at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Simi Valley on November 13th at 12:30 P.M.
