Lee C. Harnett Obituary
June 9, 2016 Lee C. Harnett passed June 9, 2016 days shy of her birthday surrounded by family and friends. A third-generation Californian and second daughter of Ernest and Muriel Collins, she was raised in Burlingame, attended Sacred Heart and Dominican University before moving to Southern California. Lee graduated part of the first-female class of UC Santa Barbara before moving to Los Angeles where she married Daniel J. Harnett in 1959. There she volunteered for civic organizations, schools and charities while raising four children. Subsequently earning Architectural Technology & Space Planning Certifications from UCLA/SMC and briefly working in interior design. After Daniel passed in 1992, Lee returned to the Bay Area, "her first love" and spent the second half of her life venturing across the globe exploring history, architecture, and culture quickly becoming an avid & well-seasoned Traveler's Century Club member. Between trips, Lee enjoyed researching destinations, volunteering (longtime Stanford Cantor Arts Center), taking classes and partaking in SF Arts. Services were held at St. Denis Menlo Park. Memorial gifts to Dominican University in San Raphael or Saint Monica's Church in Santa Monica. Lee is survived by four children: Lisa, Dan, Eric, and Nicole, sister Barbara Gray, three grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
