Leroy Christensen Obituary
Leroy (Chris) Christensen died at his home in San Marino on Monday, March 20th. He was born to Johanne and Einer Christensen and was raised in Huntington Park. Chris graduated from Occidental College in 1953 where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. After his army service, he began his career in education, and was a teacher and principal for 40 years in Los Angeles. Chris was active in several civic and community organizations. After retiring in 1990, he spent 25 years volunteering at the Huntington Hospital. He and his wife, Doris, loved to travel, and visited many countries of the world. Chris, above all, was a family man, devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Doris, sister, May Liming, daughter, Anne Mallory (Micheal), Cole and Catherine Mallory. A memorial service will be held April 1st, at 2:00 p.m. at the San Marino Community Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army. Cabot & Sons, Pasadena.
