March 9, 1928 - March 26, 2016 Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery (6001 W. Centinela Ave. in Los Angeles) for Linda Ades Rozio who passed away from natural causes on March 26, 2016. Linda was an amazing, nurturing woman who maintained deep ties with her children, grandchildren, family, friends, students and colleagues. She had a quiet way and a generous soul. She had an infectious laugh and was a lover of learning, fiction, music, humor, words, puzzles, especially of people, and most especially of her family. She was born in Camaguey, Cuba to Isaac Ades and Calo Azicri Ades. Together with brothers Moises and Daniel, her family moved to Havana in 1933. She studied at the Methodist Academy, then at the Institute of Havana, and finally at the University of Havana, majoring in business sciences. She moved to New York in 1959 where she worked as a waitress and later to Miami where she also worked as an accountant. In 1963, she moved to Los Angeles. In 1964, she married her cousin, Leon Rozio. She attended Mt. St. Mary's College graduating with a master's degree in English. Linda served as a teacher in the LAUSD for 35 years where she taught Language Arts. Linda was predeceased by her father, Isaac, her mother, Calo, her brothers, Moises and Daniel Ades, her daughter, Carol von Sprecken, and her husband, Leon. She is survived by her son, Zacky, her step-son and second cousin, Leon Rozio, Jr., son-in-law Brad von Sprecken, and her grandchildren, Jacob and Benjamin Rozio, and Brady von Sprecken. Additionally, she is survived by the many family members and friends she treasured, including, cousins Regina Maya, Gaston Maya, Bertha Pearlman, her sister-in-law, Patricia Ades and her niece, Blue Stoehr.
