Lois Elizabeth Pepperman Obituary
February 20, 1922 - December 15, 2015 Devoted wife of the late Joseph Pepperman. Beloved mother of Paul (Jacalyn), Donald (Melodee) and Joy (Wayne Smith). Cherished grandmother of Amy (Evan Greenburg), Katie, Brantley, Samantha and Emily, and great-grandmother of Oliver. Preceded in death by sisters Vera and Neoma, and brother Richard, she is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Lois (née Herrick) grew up on a family farm in Hill City, Minnesota. She was the valedictorian of her class at Hill City High School and graduated from Itasca Junior College in 1941. She joined the American Red Cross shortly after the start of World War II and was stationed at Hondo Army Airfield in Texas, where she met her future husband, Joe Pepperman. After the war, she worked in Fargo, North Dakota before relocating to New York City, where she and Joe were married. In the early 1950s, Lois and Joe settled in Southern California where they raised their family of three children. Lois was a long-time volunteer at the Motion Picture Home, collected crystal and Hummel figurines, and enjoyed traveling, musical theater, bowling, golf and spending time with her grandchildren.
