Lorna Gail Gordon Losh Obituary
February 23, 1941 - August 22, 2016 Born in Vancouver, BC to Margaret and Alexander Gordon, Gail is survived by her husband Sam Losh of Pasadena and sister, Alix James of Gibsons, BC. Her sister, Lorenne Clark of Vancouver, died in July. Gail graduated from UBC and joined her first husband, David Wales, completing his doctorate at Harvard. She loved teaching six year-olds at Belmont Day School. They moved to Pasadena when David joined Caltech. They subsequently divorced. They have two children, Jonathan Wales, of Huntington Beach, and Jennifer Singleton, Chapel Hill, NC (Scott), and grandsons Matthew and Joshua. Gail earned a JD from USC and worked for the City Attorney of LA. She practiced law with Pillsbury, and Hughes Hubbard and Reed. Gail held office in the Real Property Section of the CA Bar Assn., the Pacific Rim Council for Urban Development, the Los Angeles-Vancouver Sister Cities Assn., Lambda Alpha, and she actively supported the International Visitors Council of LA. In 2001, Gail and Sam Losh married, adding children Liz and Stephen Losh, as well as Sam's stepchildren, Janie Shary and Bob Morris. Gail and Sam skied, visited 106 countries, and loved opera.
