Lorraine Nahas Nuss Obituary
September 29, 1924 - February 23, 2017 Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was born in Santa Rosa, California. Her family moved to Hollywood. She attended Fairfax High School and UCLA and she became a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. The war ended in August, 1945 and through a mutual friend, Lorraine met Donald, a recently discharged Navy officer. It was love at first sight, married on June, 1946 and moved to Berkeley, California. Daughter Laurel arrived in April, 1947 and the family relocated to the San Fernando Valley. Daughter Marlee joined the family in June, 1949. Lorraine was a Girl Scout leader when the girls were young, active with sorority alumni, and Assistance League of Southern California. In 1981 Don and Lorraine moved to San Clemente where she joined the local chapter of the Assistance League. Together, and often with friends, they travelled the world. Don and Lorraine moved to the Covington, a retirement community, in 2004. She played a consummate bridge game, knit caps for the homeless and baby blankets for the new born. Lorraine is survived by husband of 70 years, Don, her daughters: Laurel (Richard) Smith and Marlee (Scott) Lindenblatt; grandchildren: Derek, Jason, Megan, Ryan and Kyle; great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Tyler, Trevor, Cameron, Rachel, Austin and Hunter and great-great-grandchild, Mary. She was predeceased by great-grandson, Sebastian. Lorraine was a special lady who will be missed by her family, Covington residents and all others who have made her acquaintance. A Memorial Service, celebrating her life, will be held on April 2.
