Louis F. Pontarelli Obituary
February 7, 1935 - February 10, 2017 Lou Pontarelli was born in Los Angeles, California, and enjoyed his entire robust life in Pasadena. He is survived by Helen Pontarelli, his wife of 62 years; his daughter Tina Coats (John), grandchildren Allyson Savala (Ryan), Logan Coats (Janessa), and great-grandson Kohen Coats; son Louis A. "Tony" Pontarelli (Greta), grandson Antonio Pontarelli; sister-in-law Linda Toussaint; brothers Ted Nichols and Jim Gloria; sisters Lucille Nero and Gigi Sjotvedt, and many nieces and nephews. At age 19 Lou began his professional career at California Wholesale Electric Company. Later, as sales manager with Associated of Los Angeles, he excelled at planning networking and training events. He was always friendly and optimistic and took personal pride in the accomplishments of his colleagues. Lou was highly respected in the electrical business and remained on the job until December 2016. Lou reveled in his role as family patriarch by hosting inclusive multi-generational vacations and parties. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and coworkers. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 3:00pm at Neighborhood Church, 301 N. Orange Grove Blvd., Pasadena 91103.
