June 16, 1922 - September 23, 2017 Lucy M. Foster, (née Lucia Maria Preziosa Ciullo), 95, a longtime resident of Anaheim, passed away Saturday, the 23rd of September at Town & Country Manor, Santa Ana, CA. Born in 1922 in White Plains, NY, Lucy received her RN degree at Westchester School of Nursing at Grasslands Hospital in Valhalla, NY. During her senior year in 1946, she served in the U.S. Nurse Cadet Corps. In the same year, she met and married her husband of 49 years, the late Henry McConnell Foster, M.D. In 1949, her family settled in Hays, KS, until they headed west to relocate to Anaheim, CA, in 1961. Lucy was an Emergency and Recovery Room R.N. at Riverview Hospital in Santa Ana until she retired in 1965. Lucy loved entertaining and socializing with family and friends and the companionship of beloved family dogs. She enjoyed art and design, from crafting fashions to gifts and greeting cards. She was known for her flair and hospitality to all. Into her 90s, she honed computer skills for family history research and communications with loved ones worldwide. Lucy is survived by her daughters, Linda L. Foster of Mission Viejo and Melissa M. Foster-Wilson of Pittsburg, her sons, Stephen H. Foster, M.D. of Davis, Scott M. Foster of Anaheim and Bradley C. Foster of Laguna Hills, and her sister, Ann DeMartino of Richmond, VA. She was grandmother to 7, great-grandmother to 5 and aunt to 2 nieces and 5 nephews. Memorial gifts may be made in Lucy's name to Guide Dogs for the Blind, www.guidedogs.com, PO Box 3950, San Rafael, CA 94912-3950. A private memorial service is planned.
