Madeleine Stoner Obituary

STONER, Ph.D., Madeleine R. Died July 13, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Survived by her husband, Ralph Fertig; children, Katie and Brian Jacobs, Alan Cushman; grandchildren, Noah and Bryce Jacobs; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Judy Ruskin; and nieces and nephews, Remy and Alan Freeman (Teddy and Matthew) and Ryan Ruskin and Mike Andrews. Pre-deceased by parents, Mae and Morris Ruskin; and prior husbands, Bart Stoner and Robert Cushman. Madeleine was a Senior Faculty member at The University of Southern California. She taught social welfare policy, and her major area of interest was homelessness on which she wrote extensively. Services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles, on Thursday, July 17th at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome. Madeleine will be remembered by her grace and dignity and served as a role model for so many. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Madeleine Stoner Scholarship Fund at The USC School of Social Work at (213) 740-8311 or to GLASS at 1033F N. Hollywood Way, Burbank, CA 91505.
