June 25, 1952 - May 19, 2015 It is with great sorrow we announce the untimely death of Manuel "Manny" Lopez on Monday May 19, 2015 from heart failure. He was born in Woodland, CA on June 25, 1952 to Dolores and Manuel Lopez. He was preceded in death by both his parents and his brother Enrique Lopez. He grew up in Azusa, CA and joined the Marines with his brother Enrique Lopez in October of 1971. He married the love of his life Lynn in 1988 and shared most of their married life in South Lake Tahoe, CA. They have three loving children, Mark Lopez of Indio, CA, Ian Whitney and Myles Lopez of SLT, one grandchild Mark Lopez and two great-grandchildren. Manny and Lynn enjoyed many years of hiking the Tahoe Rim trail, mountain biking, skiing, playing racket ball and boating on the lake with his many friends and family members. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed golfing with his best friend Tim Egan. His greatest accomplishment was designing and building the house of their dreams at the lake. He worked for Caesar's Entertainment as a waiter at 19 Kitchen in Harvey's Stateline, NV, Fiores Restaurant in Harrah's Southern CA, and The Steak House in Harrah's Reno, NV . He worked for Continental Airlines as a Flight Service Manager and Flight Attendant for nine years so he could live his dream of traveling the world. Manny and Lynn loved to travel and experience different cultures. He will be sorely missed by his father Rudolfo Jimenez, his brothers Raul (Mandy) and Eduardo Lopez and his sisters Patricia Baca (John), Bernadette Hernandez(John) and Elizabeth Gonzales(Anthony) , along with his half brothers Ruben and Alvaro and half sisters Cynthia and Theresa. He will be remembered fondly by his brothers in law Gary Baker (Janis) and Paul Baker (Reiko) the daughters of his sister in law Nancy Hunter (deceased) and his many nieces and nephews of whom he was very proud. He will be missed by his many friends and family members for his sense of humor, his smile and his great love of music. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday May 29th from 1pm to 3pm at: Custer Christensen Mortuary 124 S. Citrus Ave. Covina, CA 91723
