Obituary Condolences

icon November 16, 1934 - July 20, 2015 Margaret Galvan passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 20, 2015. She was 80 years old. Margaret was born in Los Angeles on November 16, 1934 to Beatrice and Chris Cobos, and graduated from Garfield High School in 1953. She married Philip Galvan in 1960 and moved to Monterey Park where she lived for 52 years raising three children. After years of being a housewife, Margaret went to work for the Garvey School District as a teachers aid in 1979 where she stayed for 24 years. Margaret decided to retire in 2003 after the love of her life, Phil passed away. Margaret sold her house last year and moved to Whittier to be cared for by family after an illness left her unable to care for herself. We celebrated her 80th birthday in November 2014 with a big celebration surrounded by family and friends. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Phil, five sisters, one brother, and her grandson Cpl. Philip McGeath KIA. Margaret is survived by a son Philip Jr., her daughters Phyllis McGeath (David) and Margo Caruso (John), two sisters, 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of life is planned for August 9, 2015.
