Margaret Guerra Obituary
June 13, 1941 - October 30, 2016 Margaret Guerra, 75, of Los Angeles, California, passed away surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Born June 13, 1941 in Los Angeles and raised in Pasadena, she was the daughter of the late Domitila Ulloa Gutierrez and Andrew Gutierrez. She started her working career in 1959 as a clerk typist for the Department of Army. In 1966 she began her 30 year career with the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare as a claims representative for the Social Security Administration. Mrs. Guerra retired in 1996, but soon was doing volunteer work at Holy Family Church in South Pasadena. Eventually she was hired as a part-time, front desk receptionist. She retired from Holy Family after 10 years. She always said that part-time job was to fund her love of cruising the world. Margaret and her husband travelled to Holland, Australia, New Zealand, Panama, Spain and England just to name a few places. She lived a good life! Margaret is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jorge Guerra; daughter Susan Guerra-Haua and husband Robert; and two sons, Stephen Guerra and wife Marcy; Francisco Guerra; and by two grandchildren, Caitlin and Frankie. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10AM, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Holy Family Church in South Pasadena. There will be no graveside service. Reception to follow. Cabot & Sons, Pasadena Directors.
