Margie McIntyre Obituary
Margie McIntyre was born Dec. 13, 1927, in Gravois Mills, MO. She was the last of nine children born to Adolph and Arminta Collins. Along with her mother, she gladly left the snow and cold of their MO farm for the sunny skies of Los Angeles in 1944. After graduating Belmont High in L.A., she began working at C.F. Braun, where she met and married Jack McIntyre in 1952. They were blessed with twins, Theresa and Timothy, in 1959. The family soon settled in Pasadena which remained Margie's home thereafter. Margie began a life of community service at the children's elementary school with the PTA. She always enjoyed meeting her PTA friends for lunch throughout her life. She expanded her volunteer service by joining the Assistance League of Pasadena, where she became the Director for California House, working with seniors. She loved being with friends and family and entertaining weekend guests at her home with swimming and BBQ. Margie and Jack adored summer vacations in Maui. She loved swimming in the tropical ocean, relaxing in the sun, and drinking a Mai Tai. Margie passed away on April 18 in the comfort of the home she loved. She is survived by her daughter, Terry McIntyre; son, Tim McIntyre (and his wife Hilda); granddaughter, Lindsey Vargo (and her husband Chad); grandson, John McIntyre; great granddaughter, Abigail Vargo; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Sunday, April 30, at 11 am at Cabot & Sons in Pasadena. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service.
