Maria Trinidad "Trina" (Prado) Marquez Obituary
June 12, 1949 - September 18, 2016 Maria Trinidad (Prado) Marquez, loving wife, mother and abuelita, passed away on September 18, 2016 at the age of 67. Trina, as she was known by her loved ones, was born in La Piedad Michoacan, Mexico on June 12, 1949 to Joaquin and Maria Prado. As a child, she helped support her siblings by selling homemade candies and fruits. When she moved to Pasadena, she had various jobs including, seamstress, childcare provider, lunch server, caterer and mother of four. She was a talented seamstress, made clothes for her family and prom dresses for her daughters and nieces. She crocheted blankets for all her children, grandchildren and extended family members. She loved to cook and demonstrated her love through food. She is fondly remembered for her generous meals (there was always enough to share) and the tamales she gifted to family during the holidays. Trina is survived by her husband Pascual Marquez, son Luis Marquez (Reina), daughters Maria Neblock (Mike), Sonya Marquez Strachan (David) and Virginia Marquez McDonell (Matthew). She is also survived by her sister Maria Concepcion Gonzalez (Enrique) and brother Ernesto Prado (Rosa). Her grandchildren are Michael and Danielle Neblock, Teresa Arraiga-Aviles (Allen), Jonathan Arraiga-Aviles (Erica), Victor and Marco Strachan as well as her great-grandchildren, Rudiger, Riotrose, Atticus, Dean and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing on Friday, September 30th at 7:00 pm at Cabot and Sons Chapel in Pasadena. The Funeral Mass will take place Saturday, October 1st at 11:30 am at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Pasadena.
