Marijune Wissmann Obituary
June 23, 1924 - January 14, 2018 Marijune Hauta Wissmann was a native of Michigan growing up on a farm in Northern Bessemer, Michigan, which is now the location of the Boulder Creek Golf Course. The daughter of Leonard and Ina Hauta, she went to Roosevelt School, Graduated from Luther L. Wright High School and Gogebic Community College. She worked on the Manhattan Project while at the University of Chicago and was transferred to Los Alamos New Mexico in 1945. In 1946 she married Frank D. Wissmann of Los Angeles in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived in Alhambra, California for over 70 years. The couple have three children, Frank Jr., Linnea Von Wissmann (Patrick Salamunovich), Dr. Paul Wissmann (Jeanette) and have two granddaughters, Sophia and Amanda. Marijune is predeceased by her husband Lt. Frank Wissmann of the Los Angeles Police Department, a sister Jean Grandahl, a nephew Jack Grandahl, who was killed in Viet Nam in 1968, two nieces, Susan Thomas and Gretchen Sianzi. Marijune was a free-lance writer who wrote a column for a local newspaper and was active in community politics. She served on the board of Merci School, was a member of the Alhambra American Legion Auxiliary, Jobs Daughters, Alhambra Womans Club, Historical Society and was a talent organist.
