Marilyn J. Goldstein In Memoriam
January 3, 1928 - November 23, 2014 Marilyn Goldstein, 86, of Studio City, passed away on November 23, 2014, surrounded by her family. A proud daughter of Brooklyn, she resided there until she moved to California in 2006. A graduate of Midwood High School and Hunter College, Marilyn taught speech and drama in New York, first at Alexander Hamilton High School and later at South Shore. She continued to direct community theatre after her retirement. She led the Pettit Players in Encino, often recruiting actors from her forays on the Ventura Boulevard bus. A union member and farm volunteer in WWII, she took part in the March on Washington in 1963 and volunteered at NY's Ground Zero in 2001. A warm and wise woman, she made friends with all generations throughout her life. She is remembered with love by sons Michael (Greta) of Encino and Paul (Jana) of San Diego, grandchildren Benjamin, Theodore and Sarah, and her many friends. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband Bernard Goldstein, they are now buried together at Mt. Hebron Cemetery in New York.
