Marilyn L. Pancoast Obituary
October 27, 1931 - October 19, 2016 Following a battle with pancreatic cancer, Marilyn passed away peacefully at home in Arcadia on October 19, surrounded by her loving family. Marilyn was born in 1931 on October 27, to Raymond and Geneva Dearmin. Marilyn moved often as a young child with her family as her dad relocated with his various positions at a major oil company. She always adapted to her new circumstances with comfort and ease. Marilyn started her working career at Union Oil Company in Los Angeles. She later worked in the office of the family business, Pancoast Cabinet Shop. Marilyn's retirement was from a rewarding career as a legal secretary. During her 84 years, Marilyn lived courageously and fully, touching countless lives with her singular spirit. She was an extraordinary woman: a wonderful mother and sister, a tireless volunteer and gracious hostess; a loyal, caring friend, whose support was incomparable. She was a supporter of the arts in San Gabriel Valley and was always up to date with the political scene. She was an avid basketball fan. Through every life stage, Marilyn's brilliance and energy focused keenly on her abiding faith and commitment to family, friends and community service. A Celebration of Life service will occur on November 12, 11:00 am, Rose Hills Mortuary and Cemetery, Hillside Chapel (Gate 17). A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to Huntington Memorial Hospital, Volunteer Services, 100 W. California Blvd., Pasadena 91105, Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA, 361 So.
