Marilyne Keith Obituary
August 19, 1931 - March 28, 2017 Marilyne Keith, the personification of kindness and warmth, passed away at home in Brentwood on March 28, 2017. A Los Angeles native, she was the daughter of Frances Stern and Gilbert Kurland. Marilyne was a loving mother, wife and grandmother who devoted most of her time to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Consummately elegant and gracious, Marilyne, in turn, cherished the beauty she found in people and nature. While volunteering at Cedars-Sinai, she helped care for indigent patients in the Eye Clinic. She delighted in being around animals and was an avid supporter of animal welfare organizations, often volunteering at the local animal rescue shelter. On family trips to Hawaii, she enjoyed attracting doves and other island birds with bread crumbs to land on her arms as she rejoiced in interacting with them. At home, she left food for all the neighborhood squirrels, raccoons and birds, and joyfully watched them when they visited. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Keith; her children Michael Lushing and his partner Donna Hackney, Linda Greller, and Cindy Aronberg; stepchildren Douglas Keith and his wife, Joyce, and Marybeth Chenoweth and her husband, Walt; grandchildren Margaux and Justin Lushing, Jeffrey, Stephanie, Spencer and Garrett Greller, and Leo and Kate Rheinheimer; and her six stepgrandchildren Trevor and Megan Chenoweth and Lara, Abby, Katie and Elise Keith. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyne's memory are suggested to UCLA Foundation to support Dr. Ming Guo's research on neurodegenerative diseases, the Humane Society of the United States, or Planned Parenthood Los Angeles. Memorial services will be held at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills at 9 a.m., Friday, March 31.
