Marjorie Anne Taylor Obituary
August 6, 1928 - November 13, 2016 Marjorie (Marge) Taylor - mother of four, grandmother of six, close friend to hundreds and beloved by virtually everyone she came in contact with over a long and meaningful life - died peacefully November 13. She was 88 years old. A lifelong resident of Los Angeles, Marge Taylor worked for many years at the Hillel Council of Los Angeles, but her main occupation throughout her life was raising and inspiring her family. Forming a close and loving bond with her husband, Burton Taylor, she faced his early death from ALS with grace and strength. She was a warm but determined mother, friend and colleague, who opened her home and her heart to all. Possessed of a fierce curiosity and open mind, she devoured a wide variety of cultural opportunities, explored her Jewish heritage, advocated for progressive causes, traveled with a hunger for adventure and knowledge and in the process formed a community with people of all generations and cultures. Marge is survived by her children David (David Bergad); Nancy (David Walker); Mark (Barbara Dalton-Taylor); and Jonathan (Paula). She is also survived by loving grandchildren Emma, Hannah, Benjamin and Ella Taylor and Ethan and Jacob Walker. But her passing will be mourned by many hundreds whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to donate to the ALS Association, the or Women Against Gun Violence. Services will be held at noon this Wednesday, Nov. 16 at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 W. Centinela Ave., Los Angeles 90045; (310) 641-0707.
