March 25, 1924 - January 23, 2016 Marjorie Jane Thomas (née Hoover) of Diamond Bar, died at 91 from natural causes on January 23, 2016 in Fullerton, California as three generations of family surrounded her with love. Marj, born to Lloyd Hoover and Beulah (Wheeler) Hoover in 1924, graduated from a 2-year theater arts program at Green Mountain College, VT, then completed a BA at the University of Illinois, Champaign, where she met, then married Glenn Thomas in 1946, while he completed his BS in mechanical engineering, after Glenn served in WWII with the US Army Air Corps. Marj and Glenn had a daughter and son in Illinois, then came to the Torrance, CA area for Glenn's work in aerospace, where two more daughters were born. Aerospace industry led the family to La Mesa in 1960, then to Diamond Bar in 1963. Marj was active in founding Diamond Bar United Church of Christ and she also loved working at Robinson-May Co. in Puente Hills as a furniture saleswoman, retiring with Glenn in 1989 to enjoy their grandchildren. She loved nature and respected all human beings. Marj is survived by her children: Carol Perez (Art), Steven Thomas (Donna Chadwick), Gloria Cassidy (Mike), Diana Dogero (Larry) and nine grandchildren: Ben Pricer, Melissa Glenn, Mickey Cassidy, Matt Dogero, Frank Pricer, Mariah Bower, Claresa Vaughns, Zane Cassidy and Sheelah Peterson; as well as nine great-grandchildren: Luke, Bella, Gia, Audrey, Isaac, Elias, Miles, Jeremiah and Noah. Marj was predeceased by her husband Glenn (1999) and her siblings: Ben, Gene, Herbert, Larry and Bertha Mae. Marjorie's life will be celebrated in a memorial on February 28, 2016 at Diamond Bar United Church of Christ (DBUCC), at 3:00 p.m. All friends and family are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to the DBUCC, for its deacon's fund.
