Marvin BERKE Obituary
June 7, 1926 - December 6, 2016 Marvin Berke was born in Paterson, NJ to parents Milton and Frieda in 1926. He grew up in Yonkers, NY until enlisting at age 17 to proudly serve as a navigator on a B-17 in the 8th Army Air Corps during WW II. He married the love of his life Florence in New York City in 1949. After a career in the electronics industry in New York, Marvin moved with Florence to Encino, California in 1974 and began a successful business as a hearing aid specialist. He was elected President of the California Hearing Aid Association for 2 terms before retiring. Despite living in California for more than 40 years he remained a New York Giants football fan to the end. Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Florence, daughter Meryl Berke Dunn, son Jeff Berke, son-in-law Larry, daughter-in-law Hyon, grandchildren Liana, Austin, Scott, Kevin, Megan, Philip and Corinne, and 10 great-grandchildren. A well-known Hebrew proverb says: "Say not in grief that he is no more, but live in thankfulness that he was." A wonderful husband, dad and papa, Marvin was very much loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He will forever be in our hearts. Services will be held in Hillside Memorial Park in Culver City on December 11 at 11:00 a.m.
