Marvin H. Strick M.D. Obituary
January 30, 1918 - January 17, 2018 Dr. Marvin Strick passed away peacefully in his home just 13 days before his 100th birthday.  Dr. Strick was a beloved pediatrician for many years, first in Benton Harbor, Michigan, and then in Los Angeles. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and received his medical degree from the University of Illinois, completing his medical training at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago. In 1941, he married Ida Banen, to whom he was married for 72 years. He served overseas as a member of the U.S. Army medical corps during World War II. On returning to the U.S., he had several career opportunities, but upon learning that the small town of Benton Harbor was in need of a pediatrician, he moved there to start a practice. During his time there, he became legendary for his skill as well as his kindness and devotion in caring for patients. Plagued by severe arthritis, made worse by the Midwest climate in which he made house calls even on winter nights, he moved his family to Los Angeles in 1957. He continued his practice there until 1977. He is survived by his two children, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
