Obituary Condolences

May 19, 1925 - September 18, 2015 Mary passed away on September 18 at her home at age 90. Born in 1925 in Los Angeles, California, she lived with her parents, and siblings, Alec and Olga. Mary became an accomplished student that went on to attend USC. She loved to read and spent many hours at the library, one of her favorite pastimes. She continued to be supportive of the school and was an avid USC football fan over the years with her children. In 1950 she married George and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she raised her two children James and Niki. Her most special times were her travels back to see her family in Los Angeles, and she loved vacationing at their beach home in Manhattan Beach. Later on, she and George retired and lived full time in the Los Angeles area. Mary was affectionately known as Marika by many of her friends. One of her creative business ventures was to open several children's stores, named Nanny, with her son and daughter. She went on to be known as Nanny by many, and by her grandchildren. More important than anything to Mary was her family. She loved spending quality time with her children and each of her grandchildren and enjoyed entertaining with many large family gatherings. Mary is survived by her son James, daughter Niki and grandchildren, Charles IV, Marielle, Alexa and James Jr. A special thanks to her nephew Dr. Nicholas Panagiotis, who cared for Mary during her long life. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 23 at 11:00 am at St. Sophia Cathedral, 1324 S. Normandie Ave. Los Angeles, 90006 In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Sophia Cathedral.
