Mary E. Fenstermacher Obituary
November 20, 1946 - December 5, 2017 Mary passed away at home in Los Angeles at age 71 after a long illness. Born in Rochester, NY, Mary graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Heart, earned a BA in Studio Art at Boston College, and a MA in TV and Film at Boston University. A pioneer in video, she spent more than two decades as a freelance TV commercial producer and worked on award-winning national campaigns in NYC and LA, producing Chrysler and Plymouth TV commercials as well as a public service campaign for the Statue of Liberty Restoration, chaired by Lee Iacocca. Mary's second career aligned with her social conscience. After earning a Certificate in Fundraising from UCLA, she spent 15 years raising funds to help those less fortunate, especially homeless people, including veterans and families with children. Predeceased by her parents, Dr. Walter and Dorothy Fenstermacher. She is survived by her sisters, Anne S. Fenstermacher of Pittsford, NY and Gail F. (Robert) Page; nephews, Chris and Sam Page of Marble Cliff, OH; many cousins; and friends. A Memorial Service and Private Burial were held in Rochester, NY in January. A Celebration of Mary's Life is scheduled for Los Angeles area friends on Saturday, February 17, 2 PM at Upward Bound House, 1104 Washington Ave., Santa Monica.
