Mary F. Beaudry Obituary
November 5, 1935 - June 2, 2016 Mary passed away after a long battle with cancer. After radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery in 2012, she lived pain-free and in full control of her mind and speaking ability up to the last several days. Mary was very bright, perceptive, modest, and courageous. She was dear to her many friends, some since the first grade at Cathedral Chapel grade school. She was an outstanding student at Cathedral Chapel, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, UCLA and Loyola Law School (Second in her class). She took piano lessons beginning at age 5, and became an accomplished pianist and a life-long fan of classical music. She was a member and former president of the Committee of Professional Women (COPW) and Encore, which are support groups for the L.A. Philharmonic Orchestra. Mary was an Estate, Trust and Probate lawyer for most of her career, and became a trial lawyer as a Deputy County Counsel at the Children's Court for several years before she retired. She enjoyed her work there, and was successful in having children placed in compatible and secure homes. After retirement, she and her husband traveled, then Mary volunteered as part of the spiritual care group at UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital, which she truly enjoyed. Mary is survived by her husband, Don Beaudry and by the four children of her late half-brother, James T. Flanagan, M.D, namely, Kate, Thomas, Michael and Patrick Flanagan, She was a classy lady, and a wonderful person. There will be a memorial service for Mary at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 16 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church at 10750 Ohio Ave., L.A., 90024.
