Mary J. Coe Obituary
December 2, 1925 - January 5, 2017 Mary Coe was born in Salinas, Ca. on December 2, 1925 and passed away peacefully January 5, 2017 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was ninety-one. She resided at her daughter's home in Quakertown, New Jersey. Mary spent her professional career as an educator. She was an elementary school teacher in the Los Angeles County School District and later became at curriculum coordinator and principal in the Ocean View School District in Orange County, Ca. She retired in 1987. Husbands Robert Coe and Lawrence Tintor predeceased her. She is survived by her four children; Kathryn Johnson of Tucson, Ariz., Candace Coe of Quakertown, N.J., David Coe of Costa Mesa, Ca. and Mark Coe of Three Rivers, Ca. She is also survived by two grandsons, Shahn Wilson and his wife, Karen and Robert Coe and his wife, Katie, and three great-grandchildren: Isaac, Samuel and Skye Wilson. After retiring Mary opened Upchurch-Brown Booksellers in Laguna Beach, Ca. which she owned for several years before retiring to coastal Oregon in the 1990's. She is remembered by her family as a strong, accomplished and energetic woman who loved life and contributed significantly in her role as an educator. She pursued her love of travel, music and gardening throughout her life and her family celebrates a life well lived. Interment will be private.
