Maxine Jue Choy Obituary
July 29, 1927 - June 14, 2017 The light from her candle slowly glowed no more for Maxine Jue Choy. She passed away peacefully at home in Rancho Mirage early in the morning of June 14, 2017. She is survived by her husband, Eddie, her son, Steven (Barbara) of San Ramon, her daughter, Marsha (Garry) of La Cañada-Flintridge, six grandchildren: Russell, Michael and Robynn Choy, and Garrett, Taylor and Morgan Chan, her younger sister, Leatrice (William) Hamada of Las Vegas and numerous nephews and nieces. Her older sister, June Ohara, died in 2009. Maxine was born on July 29, 1927, the second daughter to parents Maxine May Kam and San Yue Jue in Los Angeles, CA. Maxine met Eddie at the Chinatown United Methodist Church in Los Angeles in the late '40s when Eddie was attending school at UCLA. They were married at the Wilshire United Methodist Church's chapel in 1952. The couple spent the early years of their marriage in Denver, CO, returning to California with their two young children, to Palm Springs in 1966, and except for an interim of two years in Glendale in 1978 and 1979, the desert has been home. Services are pending. Interment will be at the Riverside National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Palm Springs, P.O. Box 2007, Palm Springs, CA 92263.
