1957 - 2016

July 30, 1957 - November 9, 2016 Mikey B was born in Upland, Ca. He was a renaissance man, the guy who could do everything. He was an artist, a musician, a creator of whatever he chose to create, including machining sculptures, painting, building amplifiers, designing small houses and building them, sculpting stills for moonshine, and he played many different instruments. He had that "high-lonesome" when he sang. He played in several bands, including the Consumers, the Romans, 45 Grave, Cathedral of Tears, Chris Cacavas and Junkyard Love, and Wreck-N-Sow. He loved all kinds of music, from punk rock and rock to old-time folk and hill music. He loved Saturday night music jams. If Mikey wanted to do something, he researched it and he did it. His focus was simply amazing, and he was a joy to be with cause there was never a dull moment. The stories he could tell, all true, seemed impossible. He worked for Goldenvoice as one of the very first employees, for 26 years. He knew he was an outsider in this world and Goldenvoice was a place of home for him. In addition, he was proud to be a US Navy veteran, having served in the Chaplain Corps. There is a big void of creative light with his passing. As noted by friends, he was a magnificent weirdo with the right screw loose. Mikey is survived by his wife (Susan), daughter (China), sister (Debbie), five nieces and two nephews, his sister-in-law and husband (Pam and Marc), the Goldenvoice family, and his chosen family of friends (you know who you are).
