Michael John Krok Obituary
June 14, 1944 - February 22, 2017 Michael was born to Frank and Zophie Krok in East Chicago, Indiana. The family moved briefly to Long Beach, California, and then to Klamath Falls, Oregon, where Mike lived until he was drafted by the U.S. Army in which he served as a Combat Medic in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. After the war, Mike received a Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University and discovered his passion for aviation, thereafter becoming a licensed pilot. Mike served with distinction in the U.S. Air Force where he became an officer, flew jets, served as a Nuclear Missile Launch Officer, received a Master's degree in Humanities and eventually retired as a Captain assigned to Space Division in El Segundo where he was decorated with the Air Force Achievement Medal for meritorious service. Retiring a relatively young man, the focus of Mike's life was his unmatched devotion to his wife of 40 years, Theresa, and his two sons, John and Pete. He showed his family the meaning of unconditional love and exemplified for his sons humility, fearlessness, and compassion. Before his passing, he and Theresa traveled the world. He will be deeply missed by those he loved.
