Michael Karr Obituary
January 15, 1929 - September 22, 2015 Originally from New York, he moved to Hollywood, California after stationed nearby while with the Navy Reserve. He worked as a Film Editor in large part with Arron Spelling and later became President of the MGM film library, during which time he initiated "Film Restoration" of all the original masters that MGM held in the salt mines out of state. Later he worked with Ted Turner, who acquired the MGM library, and oversaw the colorization of the library, which eventually became "Ted Turner Classics".
Michael was married twice and had two children; Cathy and Michael. He is survived by his son Michael Jr.
Michael loved the beach and was devoted to Al-Anon. He started the Mens Tuesday Night meetings in Brentwood and was always of service by way of leading meetings, talking in hospitals and at any invitation to speak.
