November 8, 1939 - July 20, 2017 Fredric Michael Krotz, 77, of Redondo Beach passed away at his home on July 20, 2017. Mike was born on November 8, 1939 in Glendale, California. After graduating from San Marino High School, Mike attended UC Berkeley where he received a degree in Business and was a member of Psi Upsilon fraternity. He served for six years in the US Navy Reserves while working at Security Pacific Bank. Mike's industrial real estate career began in 1968 at Coldwell Banker in the downtown Los Angeles office. In 1984, he partnered with Oltmans Construction to develop six industrial projects in Santa Fe Springs and Cerritos. He co-founded Fremont Associates in 1987 and embarked upon the development of approximately 6,000,000 square feet of high-quality industrial projects throughout Southern California. Rancho Business Center in Downey and Harbor Gateway Commerce Center in Torrance are his signature projects. During his career, Mike collaborated with hundreds of people; three generations of professionals with whom Mike worked attest to his straightforward and honest approach that resulted in win-win transactions and outcomes. Mike was a 47-year member of the Jonathan Club where he worked-out nearly every day and served on its Membership Committee. He also served as President of Los Caballeros and Vice President of the Empty Saddle Club. A man suited for the out-of-doors, fishing and horses were among his passions and favorite pastimes. Mike is survived by his wife of 33 years, Robin Fitzgerald Krotz, and daughter, Kathryn Corinne Krotz, sister, Nancy Krotz Dueker, nephew, Geoffrey Cunningham and niece, Ashley Cunningham. He is preceded in death by his parents Harry W. Krotz, Jr. and Ruth Dilley Krotz.
