November 16, 1934 - January 1, 2016 LOMEN, Michael Richard born in Glendale, California, on November 16, 1934. Died in Glendale, California, January 1, 2016. His parents were Elizabeth and Richard Lomen. He is survived by six daughters: Julie Peterson (Jeffrey), Cheryl Logan (Chris), Laurie Isenman (Scott), Wendy Lomen, Michele Rendler (Daniel), and Jennifer Hefner (James), and his sister Melinda Jordan. Michael was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Veronica Fay Lomen in 2012, and his grandson, Andrew Jeffrey Peterson in 1995. After graduating from Eagle Rock High School in 1952, he attended Occidental College where he lettered in baseball and graduated with a degree in Mathematics in 1956. He recently became a member of the Occidental College Baseball Hall of Fame. He began teaching science and mathematics in 1956 at Clark Jr. High in La Crescenta, then San Fernando Valley Jr. High. In 1964 he began his 36-year career at Eagle Rock High School teaching Mathematics and Coaching Athletics. Highlights of his career included Northern League Representative to the Coach's Association, Athletic Director, and Mathematics Department Chairperson. In 1993 he was named Athletic Director of the Year by the California Association of Athletic Directors for the Los Angeles Section. Michael retired in 2000 and continued to enjoy spending time with his six daughters, 20 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Michael was an avid supporter of the American Legion 377, as well as a long time member of the Eagle Rock High School and Occidental College Alumni Associations. Friends and family are invited to attend an Open House/Dinner Celebration of Life on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the American Legion, 10039 Pinewood Avenue, Tujunga, CA 4:30 - 9:30 pm
