April 8, 1982 - January 11, 2017 Michael Murray was born on April 8, 1982 to Donald and Lorraine Murray. He passed away January 11, 2017 after a valiant battle with brain cancer. His loss will be felt deeply by his wife Summer, their beautiful 1-year old daughter Cameron, his parents Donald and Lorraine, and so many of Michael's close family and friends. Michael, age 34, was born in Lakewood and moved to Los Alamitos at the age of 2. After graduating from Los Alamitos High School with honors, he received his BS in Business Management from Loyola Marymount University. He worked at Northrop Grumman for 10 years as a procurement analyst. Michael had an army of friends and family supporting him in his 21-month journey with brain cancer. He fought courageously, never complained, and worked tirelessly in physical, occupational, and speech therapy to get his life back to a new normal. He had a passion for travel, good food and craft beers. He enjoyed music, sports and spending time with family and friends. Michael was a very good friend to many people. He was a kind and gentle soul. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him. Services will be held at St. Cyprian Catholic Church in Long Beach: Vigil Service Thursday January 19, 2017 at 6:00 pm, and Funeral Service Friday January, 20, 2017 at 11:00 am. In honor of Michael, donations can be made to support the Transitional Rehabilitation Services program at Long Beach Memorial Hospital. Donations made by check to Memorial Medical Center Foundation; note "TRS/Michael Murray" and mail to, Memorial Medical Center Foundation, 2801 Atlantic Ave., Long Beach Ca 90806.
