Michael V. Keithley Obituary
June 12, 1952 - September 3, 2016 Mike passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the age of 64 in his home in Oxnard, California. Mike was born in Glendale, CA to Mike & Mary Ann Keithley. He spent his youth in Northridge where he graduated from Monroe High School playing both varsity football and baseball. He attended Quincy College in Illinois on a baseball scholarship and majored in Physical Education. After graduating college, he returned to California. He managed operations for the family Aerospace business, Vanaero Company, in the San Fernando Valley. Paragon Precision was purchased in 2003, a prototype and production machine shop, located in the Industrial Park of the Santa Clarita Valley. He was a well-respected business owner and CEO of Paragon. Mike was a national & world champion skeet shooter and an alternate on the Olympic Skeet Shooting Team at age 16. He loved skeet, duck hunting, baseball, golf, & Maui. He loved spontaneous trips and always had a saying, "Don't go anywhere for a bad time". He loved coaching his children over a ten-year span with the Santa Clarita Parks & Rec. programs in baseball & softball. Mike was always the biggest fan watching the many sports his children participated in during high school. Mike was a resident of Newhall for over 32 years. Upon his semi retirement he and his wife moved to Mandalay Bay in Oxnard where they enjoyed cruising the Channel Island Harbor in their electric cocktail boat. He is survived by his wife Gail (Quinn) Keithley, his son Michael Keithley, grandsons Devin & Drew Keithley, daughters, Erin Keithley, Phaedra Miller and Brenna Miller. He is also survived by his two sisters Marilee Roche and Michelle Mahan, as well as his nieces and nephews. Memorial Service to be held Saturday October 1, 2016, 10a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1500 N. C Street, Oxnard. Reception to follow.
