Mihoko "Mitzi" Saito Obituary
May 29, 1925 - June 16, 2016 Mihoko "Mitzi" Saito (91) passed away in Clarksville, TN. She was born in Los Angeles, CA to Jim S. and Yoshiko Yoshimura. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Tetsuo Saito, son Ronald Saito, daughter Pattie Saito-Deroeux, brother Sam (Yuki) Yoshimura, and brother-in-law Harvey Kitaoka. She is survived by her children Dan (Christine) Saito, Wayne (Cyra) Saito, and Tina (Ramiro) Santoyo; sisters Kazy Kitaoka and Amy (Frank) Nishikawa, and brother Roy (Setsuko) Yoshimura; grandchildren Evan Saito, Kyle Saito, Julien Deroeux, Nicole Santoyo, and Jacob Santoyo; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives; a long list of friends; and companion dog-buddy Cudi and Catsworth the cat. Mihoko graduated from Manzanar High School in the summer of 1943. She was a member of West Adams Christian Church Disciples of Christ and a member of Seinan Senior Citizens' Club. During her children's younger years, she was an active member of Cienega Elementary School PTA. She retired as an Educational Aide/Special Education Trainee in 1992 from the Los Angeles County Unified School District. Her children continue to declare her "the best Mom in the world." She was a kind woman, loved by all who knew her. Experiencing great joys as well as tremendous sadness and difficulties in her life, she remained a strong and positive influence to others. She enjoyed being with family and friends, dancing, playing the slots at Vegas and Pechanga, working on Sudoku and puzzles, and playing Scrabble and Uno. Mihoko was also a big fan of Family Feud and Let's Make a Deal. She enjoyed travelling and will soon take one last road trip to Los Angeles to be placed with her husband at a later date.
