Mitchell Aaronson In Memoriam
February 6, 1920 - April 28, 2014 Mitchell Aaronson passed away on April 28, 2014 at the age of 94. He was born on February 6, 1920 to Rose Fox and Arthur Aaronson in Minneapolis. MN. He married his high school sweetheart, Elinor Felsenberg in the midst of World War II in Hawaii, while stationed there, arriving shortly after Pearl Harbor was bombed. Mitchell and Elinor met at age 16 while working on the North High School newspaper, Polaris. When the War broke out, Mitchell volunteered for Navy Intelligence and served under Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. He worked on some of the original IBM computers to help break the Japanese code that resulted in the U.S. shooting down Admiral Yamamoto's plane. After the War, Mitchell attended Harvard Law School and then set out for Los Angeles where he joined a prestigious law firm. Shortly thereafter, he opened and developed his own very successful law practice. His sons, Edward (who predeceased him in 2010) and Arthur joined his firm in their early years of practice. Mitchell lived a beautiful life of travel, culture and golf and 70 years of marriage with Elinor. He passed leaving an adoring wife, children, Amy and Arthur, grandchildren, Lisa, Michael, David, Emily, Simon, Matthew, and Molly, and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Mia, Chloe, Miles, Dylan, Dane, and Ella.
