Monique Nebolon Obituary
September 8, 1955 - October 9, 2015 Monique Mary Nebolon of Bend, Oregon, passed away at her home on Friday, October 9, 2015, four months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. A Funeral Mass in Monique's memory will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015, at 12:00pm, at St. Francis of Assisi Historic Downtown Church, located at 494 NW Lava Road in Bend. Monique was born to Joseph and Frances (Stupegia) Nebolon in Pasadena, California, on September 8, 1955. She spent most of her childhood in Rolling Hills, California. She earned a Bachelor's degree in history at the University of California Santa Cruz, went on to graduate studies in ancient Near Eastern history at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and later received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her psychiatry residency was completed at MCP Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. Afterward, she worked as an Attending Physician at Friends Hospital in Philadelphia, the oldest psychiatric hospital in the country, and also conducted a private practice in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In 2006, she began her Bend practice and was affiliated with St. Charles Medical Center. From 2007-2015 she conducted a solo private practice in psychiatry in Northwest Crossing. Monique was grateful for the privilege of sharing in the lives of many in the community, as physician, professional colleague, and friend. Monique married her husband, David A. Pendlebury, on September 4, 1982, in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. She enjoyed cycling, pottery, food and cooking, and her cats Yogi, Smokey, and little Leo. Monique is survived by her devoted and admiring husband of 33 years; her mother, Frances Nebolon of Manhattan Beach, California; two brothers, Joseph Nebolon of Del Mar, California, and Robert Nebolon of San Rafael, California; and three sisters, Renee Nebolon of Novato, California, Diane Silver of Los Angeles, California, and Barbara Gunning of Hermosa Beach, California; as well as by many beloved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her uncle and aunt, Andre and Margie Nebolon of Bend, and her cousins Theresa Freihoefer of Bend, and Denise Nebolon of Gilroy, California, as well as her uncle and aunt, Robert and Karen Stupegia of Tinley Park, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her father, in 1999.
