Myrtle Warnshuis Obituary
May 5, 1923 - April 9, 2016 On April 9th, the family of Myrtle "Toni" Frese Warnshuis said goodbye to their wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her passing was peaceful and due to natural causes. Known to all as "Toni", thanks to her husband of 56 years, she wore the name well. Toni was a vibrant, charming, high energy powerhouse. She was blessed with a beautiful soprano voice and a gift for acting but chose to dedicate herself to raising her three children, volunteer work, and being active in church life. She and her husband, Edward Warnshuis, met singing in a Santa Monica City College opera. They married in 1941 and raised their three children in a house filled with their love for music, which has been passed on to all the family. Toni was active at both St. Francis of Assisi Catholic church in La Quinta and Holy Family Cathedral of Orange, where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She outlived her husband by nineteen years and is survived by her three children: Cheri Wright, Ed Warnshuis, and Wendy La Duke; her eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all. Her service will be held Monday at Holy Family Cathedral in Orange at the noon mass.
