Nadine M. Mosier Obituary
June 5, 1925 - November 20, 2015 Oclea Nadine Merilatt Mosier died on November 20, 2015 in Redding, CA. She was ninety years old. Nadine was born in the small Swedish farming community of Burdick, Kansas where she attended school in a one room school house. She graduated from Durham High School, KS, in 1943 as class Valedictorian. In 1947, Nadine earned her bachelor's degree in secondary education and was elected to membership in Kappa Delta Pi National Honor Society at Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia. While still in college, she taught elementary school for two years after receiving an emergency teaching certificate due to the teacher shortage during WWII. Following completion of her education, she taught English, home economics, and physical education at Burrton High School, Burrton, KS, for two years. In 1949, Nadine married H. David Mosier, Jr. in Baltimore, Maryland, where David attended medical school. The family eventually settled in Los Angeles, CA. where Nadine devoted herself to homemaking and raising their four children. In 1976, she pursued a successful career in real estate in the San Fernando Valley and maintained her real estate license until 2013. Nadine belonged to the Sherman Oaks Lutheran Church for nearly 60 years and was active for many years in the church's music ministry. Nadine is survived by her children, Carolyn Pohlmeyer of Redding, CA, William D. Mosier of Fullerton, CA, Daniel Mosier of Redding, CA, and Christine Mosier-Mahoney of Redding, CA; ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
