April 7, 1920 - December 21, 2015 Nancy Anne Brenza (nee Anne Maddux Robinson) 95, died peacefully on December 21 after a long and remarkable life. She grew up in San Francisco and San Anselmo, California, attended Marin Junior College and graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in home economics. During WWII Nancy served in the U.S. Navy, working as an air traffic controller. She met her first husband, John A. Rittmayer, during the war. In 1954 the couple and their children moved to Southern California. As her three children grew older she went back to work as a secretary and later taught sewing classes at Santa Monica College. She married Frank Brenza in 1978. In 1996, Nancy moved back to Sonoma County, where she had spent summers on her grandparents' farm as a girl. She was active in the WAVES, Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, the Preservation Society, the Women's Club and as a docent at Vallejo House. She is survived by daughter Serena, son John and his wife Nancy and by nieces, stepchildren, step-grandchildren and many friends who have all returned the love she gave them so freely.
