Nancy Munro Obituary
July 29, 1943 - May 17, 2017 Munro, Nancy, C.S.J., age 73, passed away on May 17, 2017 in Los Angeles, a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet since August 6, 1962. Nancy was born in Los Angeles July 29, 1943 and attended St. Anselm School and St. Mary's Academy. From an early age, Nancy exhibited a strong creative talent. She believed that "Creativity is part of contribution, is our potential to be one with the Creator, each of us is creative in her or his own way. We are all artists and called to make our world a better place with the touch of Divine that we each possess. It is a powerful gift, and we each have it." Nancy's ministerial years in the community were devoted to education-both in the classroom and in administration. Nancy was a multi-gifted person, with lots of curiosity and love of travel, using her talents wherever she went. She lived the CSJ spirit by stretching herself to do and be all of which woman is capable. We will miss her infectious smile and artistic presence among us. She is survived by her sister, Elaine Hartin and her brother, Robert Munro and numerous nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Carondelet Center in Los Angeles on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 4:30PM with Funeral Liturgy at 6:30PM. A Garden Niche service will be held Friday, June 9, 2017 at 10:00AM at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, CA. Donations in memory of Sister Nancy Munro may be sent to: Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, 11999 Chalon Road, Los Angeles, CA 90049. Please visit the mortuary's website, www.LAfuneral.com to send the family messages, share memories, or to obtain directions to the services.
